Hall of Fame Open 2022 - ATP 250
We are back in action this week with a pop up at one of our favorite tennis events on the ATP Tour calendar – the 2022 Infosys Hall of Fame Open ATP 250 in Newport, Rhode Island. This event will be the conclusion to the grass-court swing, following an unbelievable 2 weeks of tennis during Wimbledon (although seeing Nadal pull out in the semifinal and deny us a potential Djoko-Rafa showdown was a slight letdown…).

The tournament is shaping up to be incredibly entertaining, with a strong draw, including Felix Auger Aliassime (first time this tournament has had a top-10 player), Andy Murray, and John Isner. Grass is a tricky surface, adding unique elements of difficulty to the players’ strategy that makes this event a pleasure to watch. We’re going to be bold and predict that Andy Murray is going to upset the seedings and take the trophy home in the tournament he hasn’t played in since he was 17 years old. Whatever happens, the tennis will be exhilarating, as the players take to the recently resurfaced grass courts that apparently play much differently to Wimbledon.

Aside from the action on the court, the best part of this event for us is the fan base at Newport, who never shy away from showing their understanding and appreciation for great sunglass culture, which we absolutely love it. As a natural sporting town, whether it be tennis, pickleball, sailing, or golf, the people of Newport know their stuff when it comes to sunglasses and the importance of investing in quality if they want to get the performance they need and the protection they deserve. That’s why being at this event is a no-brainer for us, as we continue to push the limits of what sports-specific eyewear can do to both enhance performance on the court and increase the longevity of our wearers’ active lifestyles.

At the tournament we will be featuring with our newest line – the Reflex – and can’t wait to get it in front of this sunglass-discerning crowd. It has sold out twice already this year (hey team, I think we need to start ordering more pairs…) and has certainly proved to be a worthy compliment to our first, bestselling style – Model One. Designed with adjustable temples, enhanced impact protection, a state-of-the-art lock-and-key interchangeable lens system, and a [slightly] more traditional aesthetic than Model One, the Reflex is a pair worthy of the title of best tennis sunglasses. Like the Model One, our patented Reflex frame is handmade at our sports-specific factory in northern Italy and features our Court HD+ lenses by ZEISS™, built through a collaborative 2-year research and development project to enhance contrast on the tennis court.

We’re pumped for a great week of tennis under the sun here in Newport while talking anything and everything performance sunglasses - come see us at our pop up if you’re in the area!
